Year 12 SUMMER LEARNING
INTRODUCTION: Over the summer you are going to complete 3 tasks to prepare you for year 13 and the assessment that will be completed on return to school. It is important that you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the Year 12 content in a summative assessment. This enables you the opportunity to review all material covered during the first 3 units and have a realistic experience in which to demonstrate your exam technique.
KEY POINTS:

PREPARING FOR THE SEPTEMBER ASSESSMENT
TASK 1 FOCUSED REVISION: I will allocate you 5 reading assignments for the summer to help you BRIDGE LEARNING GAPS, I have identified these based on your Kognity results during the course of the year. At the end of each reading assignment you will complete the strength tests. You will find the these reading assignments on Kognity.

TASK 2 PRACTICE TESTING: Every Monday I will set you 15 multiple choice questions on Kognity. You have the week in which to complete these. Practice testing is shown to be one of the two most effective forms of revision as it allows you to audit your current knowledge and provide prompts for identifying learning gaps and an opportunity to review content that requires additional coverage. Make sure that as you complete the practice test you have a pen and paper available to make a note of any key terms, ideas, diagrams or discussions that you will need to revise. Your teacher will review results by Friday and may give suggestions of additional reading assignments for you to complete.

Summer Reading List A student emails me asking for a summer reading list. Here are ten very different books I like that are fun enough that you would not be embarrassed (well, not too embarrassed) reading them at the beach: Milton Friedman, Capitalism and Freedom Robert Heilbroner, The Worldly Philosophers Paul Krugman, Peddling Prosperity Steven Landsburg, The Armchair Economist P.J.
