Year 10 SUMMER LEARNING
INTRODUCTION: Over the summer you are going to complete 2 tasks to prepare you for the mid-course assessments that will be completed on return to school. It is important that you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the Year 10 content in a summative assessment. This enables you the opportunity to review all material covered during the first 3 units and have a realistic experience in which to demonstrate your exam technique.

PREPARING FOR THE MID-COURSE ASSESSMENTS
TASK 1 FOCUSED REVISION: You have had your Paper 1 Multiple Choice Assessment returned and asked to review which questions and topics you answered correctly and incorrectly. You will now return this review to your teacher and your teacher will allocate you 5 reading assignments for the summer to help you BRIDGE LEARNING GAPS. At the end of each reading assignment your teacher will have set you a short task to complete. These should be completed over the course of the holiday and self-marked using the assessment criteria and mark schemes. You will find the these reading assignments on Kognity.

TASK 2 PRACTICE TESTING: Every Monday your teacher will set 15 multiple choice questions on Kognity. You have the week in which to complete these. Practice testing is shown to be one of the two most effective forms of revision as it allows you to audit your current knowledge and provide prompts for identifying learning gaps and an opportunity to reviewing content that requires additional coverage. Make sure that as you complete the practice test you have a pen and paper available to make a note of any key terms, ideas, diagrams or discussions that you will need to revise. Your teacher will review results by Friday and may give suggestions of additional reading assignments for you to complete.

ADDITIONAL REVISION RESOURCES: As the mid-course assessments (MCA's) draw closer you will likely need to increase the time that you revise economics. Remember that there is a page devoted to revising the first 3 units and you will find more helpful advice about strategies for revision here:
